Interesting. Haven't heard about or thought about this is many, many
years.
During some management training courses, we were "taught" this. I am
sure it was just an oversimplified "shake-and-bake" version of what is
likely an entire discipline, in much the same manner as they "taught"
us in a one-week course about the Myer-Briggs dynamics. But I
digress ;)
The point was to help us more effectively interact with those we
supervised according to whatever wave length, so to speak, that they
were on.
What I remember about that two decades ago exposure to the subject
involved the various senses. We were told to ascertain how an
employee expressed him or herself in terms such as "I see what you
mean" or "I hear ya" when we as supervisors or managers were giving
them instruction or correction. We were told to then "match"
according to the visual or auditory clues we got and that way the
communications would connect better.
I had never heard of such a thing before and it was all quite rather
fascinating. I'm sure there is a whole lot more to it than simply the
communications in the workplace aspect that we focused upon and I
never got around to following up on it in more depth.
What do YOU think about it and why did you bring it up?

What do I think of NLP? Not sure, but it makes many of the same claims
as Dianetics (at least the believable ones) and have heard some good
things. NLP and Dianetics fight for the same custom but this is not
true of the people CCHR attacks. Just looking for a patten. |

NOT ON ARS you dimwit, get a clue. now you explain your presence
there... ?? i have the right to hate any doctor i want.. anyway, im
not antimedical doctor per sae, i am anti GPs and psychs, etc. I dont
think you can consider a GP a real medical doctor. im not against
doctors per sae, you just have to tell them what is wrong with you and
what to prescribe... they are just a bit thick, kind of like you... |
