when I started my studies I decided to go to Department of
Microbiology rather than to another with animals to make experiments..
but animal testing is importnat for progress in science..

What makes you think that microbiology departments in research institutions
and universities do not use animals in experiments? The department I am in
certainly does but then this department is medically orientated.

It is very difficult to study pathogenisis and the immune process without
using animals at some stage.
