Roy Sastrom is serving a 40-year sentence at Connecticut Valley Hospital for burglary and larceny convictions. The hospital says he went missing Saturday while on a pass, allowing him to walk alone on the Middletown hospital grounds. Look up the hospital. Its a state run hospital for the mentally ill. He was sentenced to spend time there because he was deemed mentally ill either @ time of trial or sentencing. Online news articles detailing his sentence and convictions vary, I might add. While that hospital should probably revise their policies, to deny all patients who have behaved for some time the right to take a walk outside in the sunshine is cruel. An officer should have been walking with him, end of story.
