SR. BIOSTATISTICIAN

Description The Senior Biostatistician /Epidemiologist is responsible
for the statistical planning, analysis and reporting from external
data sources for projects company-wide. In collaboration with project
team members on assigned teams, evaluates external data sources,
calculates sample sizes, writes statistical analysis plans, reviews
data collection and management methodology, retrieves data, and
performs and reports statistical analyses. Interfaces with a variety
of company personnel in support of new product development and
marketed product support. Assures acceptability and scientific
integrity of data collection and analysis through appropriate
application of statistical principles and methodology, and is able to
argue logically in support of project results and conclusions. Ensures
a sound scientific basis for product performance claims.

Requirements 2 years (PhD) or 4 years (MS) full-time relevant
experience, preferably in the medical or pharmaceutical field;
including experience in the analysis of data from commercial
databases, registries, and other public databases, and in preparing
reports and manuscripts. Knowledge of epidemiology principles and best
practices in risk analysis and post-marketing surveillance, medical
terminology, and public and commercial databases for medical data
preferred. High level of SAS programming proficiency and knowledge.

Effective oral communication and writing skills. Effective
intrapersonal skills in collaborating with a variety of scientific and
managerial personnel at various organizational levels. Technical/
scientifically oriented individual. Well grounded and knowledgeable in
current statistical theory and methods as used in medical research.
Ability to handle multiple competing projects and deadlines. Self-
starter with a talent for problem-solving and attention to detail.
